The power of social networking websites
Social networking websites: A temporary fashion? A trend? A revolution? Nobody knows, but ignoring their power can be very expensive for any company.

In 2004 Facebook was born and five years later it had already 350 million users around the world. Today Facebook is the sixth website most visited on the Internet.

People do not only connect to these networks to find friends, but also to search and find information. Instead of going the traditional way and asking directly a manufacturer, many people prefer to inform themselves about a specific product and the experience other users had with it in the social network they are connected to. Even more: 90% of social networking users declare to trust the recommendations of their friends and 70% even trust recommendations made by unknown users.
That’s why even companies that do not invest in traditional publicity are represented in social networks: 300.000 brands already connect to their fans in Facebook.
